We're David and Melanie Samuelu, the husband-and-wife team behind Genuine Joy Photography.
Before anything else, we're followers of Jesus and parents to a curious, busy four-year-old boy and a sweet, spirited two-year-old girl. Our days are full of giggles, spilled snacks, bedtime prayers and more hugs than we can count, and we wouldn't trade a single one.
Being parents has taught us how quickly the little moments slip by. That's why we love photography: it lets us hold on to the ordinary, beautiful days God gives us. We'd love to help your family do the same.

We'd rather capture a real laugh than a perfect pose. Windblown hair, wiggly kids and happy tears are all welcome here.
Grace at your pace
Toddler meltdowns, nap schedules, snack breaks: we live it every day. We move at your family's speed with plenty of patience, kindness and grace.

Most sessions happen in and around Anchorage, but we're always up for an adventure. Studio sessions are available year-round for little ones, maternity and anyone who'd rather stay warm.
